I recently wrote about the two aides that were removed for having lobbied on Burma's behalf, along with mentioning snippets of John McCain's other dubious connections to shady foreign entities. Victor Yanukovych and Oleg Deripaska being two. In fact, the Wall Street Journal has also begun to eye McCain's foreign connections.
John McCain isn't alone. His wife's connections to shady foreign governments are now being noticed.
It's sad when you see a headline like, McCain's wife sells Sudan-related investments. No joke. The worst part is the timing. If Cindy retracted the investments after realizing what horrible injustice was being practiced by the Sudanese government, that'd be one thing. But it isn't.
Cindy McCain, whose husband has been a critic of the violence in Sudan, sold off more than $2 million in mutual funds whose holdings include companies that do business in the African nation.

The sale on Wednesday came after The Associated Press questioned the investments in light of calls by John McCain, the likely Republican presidential nominee, for international financial sanctions against the Sudanese leadership.
After last night's romping in Mississippi's Fightin' 1st, this is hardly welcome news for the Republicans. In fact, there is a clear line of attack now against John McCain. How many people around him, himself included at times, must have ties to tyrants. Whether these tyrants are Burmese, Sudanese, or Ukrainian. Or even if they're not a tyrant, just a major backer of super-shady Putin. A pattern has emerged here. Now, more than ever, Cindy McCain ought to release her tax returns. NOW. It'd be the wise thing to do, because sooner or later, people are going to be asking McCain an awful lot of questions.
Furthermore, this cuts directly into McCain's reputation as a maverick fighting for what he thinks is morally right. Here's another excellent snippet from the Associated Press article;
Last year, in a speech on energy policy to the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington, McCain cited China's investments in Sudan as an example of regimes that survive off free-flowing petro dollars.
"The politics of oil impede the global progress of our values, and restrains governments from acting on the most basic impulses of human decency," he said. "There is only one reason China has opposed sanctions to pressure Sudan to stop the killing in Darfur: China needs Sudan's oil."
Hypocrite, flip-flopper, juggler of ironies... John McCain is a jack of all trades dishonest and corrupt.
