I want my country back and thanks to the Daily Kos I see that Democrats are fighting to make that happen. I wasn't surprised to discover that Americans voted George Bush into office for his first disastrous term despite the controversy around the election results. It was when he was voted in for a second time that I really thought my country was headed towards some of the worst times. Clearly we have been bullied and misled into going a long way down that road in the wrong direction. Now thanks to a wave of Democratic victories across the country that only seems to be building there is hope that better times are ahead. Props to the Daily Kos below.
Hearing all in one day Bush's remarks to the Knesset referencing Neville Chamberlain and then Terry Gross's interview on NPR with John Hagee has made me so fed up with the condition this country is in. It's like the country has been led by bobble heads for the past seven and a half years. January 20, 2009 can not come soon enough.
I was raised by a single mom in Arlington, Va and was a rebellious punk teenager during the Reagan years. Until this election season I had always been skeptical of politics in part due to my cynicism and past disappointments. That attitude began falling away as I became more interested in Barack Obama's run to become the Democratic nominee. And as I sought more information on what was really happening during this race I discovered the Daily Kos. That was a huge relief. I could get information, read opinions and be redirected to places on the net that also offered valuable thoughts and insights into American politics at all levels. For the first time in my life I'm coming to believe in the Democratic Party and would try to support the Party on all levels. The Party has Senator Barack Obama and the Daily Kos to thank for that.
