This summer and fall the Scott Kleeb for United States Senate campaign is looking for highly motivated students and recent graduates who believe, like Scott Kleeb, that Washington cannot change Nebraska, but Nebraska can change Washington.
The New Pioneer Academy will train a new generation of political activists who can take hold of their government and demand a new brand of politics. Interns will be encouraged to pursue a particular division based on current major, skills, and overall interest.
Internships are unpaid, volunteer positions and divided into the following divisions:
Community Interns
Community Interns will represent the campaign at the grassroots level by canvassing communities, holding voter registration drives, coordinating events, recruiting volunteers, and various other field related tasks.
Research and Policy
Research Interns will provide statistics and information on various issues, draft policy analyses, prepare issue briefings, keep up with current actions in Washington, and various other research related tasks.
Press and Communication
Press Interns will work alongside the Communication Director to track press coverage, craft press releases, write letters to the editor, create media advisories, plan media events, and various other press related tasks.
Finance and Fundraising Interns
Finance Interns will work alongside the Finance Director to track and follow-up on donation pledges, identify potential donors, conduct standard donor research, help setup meetings, write thank you letters, plan fundraisers, and various other finance related tasks.
College Credit
Our campaign will work with students who wish to participate in the Academy to obtain college credit.
Eligibilities and Deadlines
All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and graduated from high school. The application deadline is June 3rd. Please submit a resume and a cover letter which includes the divisions you are interesting in and the regional office you wish to be placed. Potential interns will be scheduled for an interview and notified as soon as possible. Interns will be responsible for housing, transportation, and other expenses.
Resume and cover letters should be sent to Mike Nellis at mike@scottkleeb.com or call 402.214.1484 for more information.
