Good news!
I just got a reply to my email to the Georgia Muscular Dystrophy Association, actually from the national office, saying that they not only will refuse the money from the racist t-shirts, but have taken legal action for use of the MDA name in fundraising without permission.
I promised I would make a donation to the group if they took such action, and I will be fulfilling that promise.
My short note, and the MDA reply after the jump.
Subject: A donation you don't want
I certainly hope you will refuse donations raised in this manner.

I have no doubt that if you publicly reject the money, you will get a
great deal more sent from folks around the country in gratitude for doing the right thing.

MDA has declined to accept any donations from the sale of Mr. Norman's T-shirts. Additionally, Mr. Norman is not an authorized fundraiser for the Association and is not legally allowed to use our name to promote the sale of any merchandize. Our legal team has sent him a cease-and-desist order to assure that he refrains from continuing to
mention MDA in a fundraising capacity.
Thank you for your inquiry. If I can be of further assistance, please
call or e-mail.

This organization helps so many kids and families. They've been a tireless advocate for research and support for decades. I can remember watching Jerry's telethon back in 1960 (showing my age here!) when Bonanza was still in production and my "Little Joe" was a guest. That's commitment!

Update: Reminded in comments that the copyright owner of the Curious George figure also took legal action on this.
