At the moment, there are 13 candidates on the Blue Majority Page on ActBlue. 10 House candidates; 2 Senate Candidates and Barack Obama. Last year there were 17 candidates. 3 Senate Candidates and 14 House Challangers. 2 of the senate candidates were elected ( Jim Webb & Jon Tester ) 5 House Challangers were elected ( Tim Walz, Joe Sestak, Patrick Murphy, Paul Hodes & Jerry McNerney ) 5 of the candidates on last year's list are on this year's list. 3 of the remaining 5 on last year's list aren't running agin this year. The remaining 2 are (Linda Stender NJ-07 & Larry Kissell ) Shouldn't they be on the list again this year? or how about some new blood?
Here are 10 house candidates (out of so many good candidates) that i think could be deserving of a little love (money) thrown their way.
I'll diary about another 10 housers on saturday and about senate challangers sunday.
A lot of you may think that some great candidates aren't on the list but they might be on saturday's list or the DCCC had already got their back and they don't really need us.
Larry Kissell NC-08 - He came agonizingly close, 329 votes close. He was igonered by DCCC, but we had his back. He has been largely ignores by the DCCC again this cycle, and, money-wise, by us. He's also a diarist here. With North Carolina likely to be competetive on the presidential level, Kay Hagan and Beverly Perdue also at the top of the ticket for Senate and Governor respectively he may be able to pull it off this time.
Linda Stender NJ-07 - another candidate not on the list this year, but on the list last year. Another 3,330 votes or 1% and we'd be calling her Congresswoman Stender. Running in an open seat this year, should we be sending money her way?
Bill McCamley NM-02 - Started his campaign even before 2nd district Congressman Steve Pearce anounced he would duke it out with Heather Wilson over who gets to loose to Tom Udall in the senate race. After Pearce's departure he was joined by many other dems, the field has now been narrowed down to McCamley and Harry Teague. Although both would make fine congressmen, i think Bill's our best bet here. The Republican's plethora of douchebags running are slightly favoured, or so CW would suggest in this R+6 district that Bush carried by 16 points in 04. Cook, CQ and Roth peg this race as Likely R. A little cash thrown toward bill might budge this to Lean R at least.
Micheal Montagano IN-03 - what? but we already won 3 seats in Indiana in 06! i know, This is a R+16 district!!! :O i know! Bush carried this district by, wait for it, 37 points! Then why did Mark Souder only win by under 9 points in 2006? With Jill Long Thompson running against Mitch "I'm slightly more popular than Bush" Daniels and Obama likely to make a play in Indiana, this could get a little interesting. Any Thoughts?
Debbie Cook CA-46 - A race that looked as compepative as Floyd Mayweather V my grandmother a few months ago changed when Huntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook announced her run. She's got the name rec, appeal, she's endorsed the repsonible plan for iraq, but has she got the money? should we help her out or will the DCCC step in?
Tom Perriello VA-05 - read his bio, he's got a good story. Mark Warner's gonna be dominating at the top of the ticket along with Obama winning by 7 points in today's SUSA poll, this distrcit which is 22% Black could very well be in play. Deserving? i think so, how about you?
Steve Sarvi MN-02 - hideously out of step with his discrict congressman John Kline could be given a real race this year. With the most attention being given to the open seat in MN-03 (Ashwin Madia who's running for us here is a great candidate but the DCCC's got his back) MN-SEN, freshman Dem Tim Walz and cerifiably batshit crazy Michelle Bachmann, this race may have gone under the radar. It's less republican than MN-06, Bush only carried it by 10 points. Wanna put it in play?
Colleen Callahan IL-08 - has the daunting task of starting up a campaign at short notice bacuase our original candidate Dick Versace dropped out, This race seems to have fell of everyone's list after Dick dropped out. This is an open seat in Illinois with Obama at the top of the ticket! this seat is deffinatley in play. The Repubs nominee, Aaron Schock, is a crazy mutha fuuu, and stopping this guy from becoming a member of the United States House Of Representatives should be of great importance to us, he's about 19 so he ould be in the house for a loooong time! Wana Stop Schock?
Nick Von Stein ) OH-08 - John Boehner (pronouned Boner as in erection, well not really but this is how we should pronounce it just like we should pronounce Idaho Senator Mike Crappo CRAPPO not Cray-po, i digress) John Boehner is the smarmiest, slimiest, hypocritical douchecock in congress, my opinion? Hell no it's fact. Wanna wipe that shit-eating grin off his face?? wanna see him sweat ? wanna see him grovel for money from Tom Cole? yeah! me too!! so lets throw some money to his challanger Nick Von Stein!!
Frank Kratovil MD-01 - okay okay he's already got some money, but not as much as the club for growth candidate Andy Harris who beat moderate incumbent Wayne Gilchrest in the primary. A little cash could make this race very compepetitive, with Obama set to dominate in Maryland and Gilchrest holding off his endorsemnt of Harris, possibly not endorsing him at all, Frank may well be able to pull this off.
A visit to these guys webistes is worth it if you've got a little time to spare and want to escape Clinton's Quixotic bid for the nomination.
Anyone take your fancy?
