Bush will shower his friends with earmarks and screw the rest of us (especially the poor, starving and dying) for as long as we let him...Take Action now.
Tell Congress to say "NO"
Please take action today and urge your Congresspersons to reject the Bush Administration's $150 million earmark for Big Biotech.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the White House is attempting to force famine stricken countries, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, to adopt Genetically Engineered crops tied to a $770 million aid package.

The Bush Administration's $150 million earmark for GE crops is a thinly veiled attempt at subsidizing biotech corporations and advancing the genetic contamination of organic and non-ge crops in famine stricken countries. GE crops are untested and are largely unwanted by the majority of the planet's population. Dozens of countries around the world currently ban the cultivation of any genetically engineered varieties as they have yet to be proven safe for the environment or for human consumption. Additionally, GE crops have not been demonstrated to significantly increase yield, but rather force farmers into a deadly spiral of toxic agrichemicals and patent monopolies.
When are we going to see an end to the politics of greed? Probably not in my life time, however I am compelled to act when I can to try to limit the politics of greed and this is another one of those (oh so many) instances where we can all act and contact Congress.
U.S. using food crisis to boost bio-engineered crops

WASHINGTON — The Bush administration has slipped a controversial ingredient into the $770 million aid package it recently proposed to ease the world food crisis, adding language that would promote the use of genetically modified crops in food-deprived countries.
Opponents of GMO crops say they can cause unforeseen medical problems. They also contend that the administration's plan is aimed at helping American agribusinesses.
"This is a hot topic now with the food crisis," said Ronnie Cummins, national director of the Organic Consumers Association. "I think it's pretty obvious at this point that genetically engineered crops—they may do a number of things, but they don't increase yields. There are no commercialized crops that are designed to deal with the climate crisis."
Sadly the world has learned that just because something is presented as AID it probably needs to include a label stating WARNING this package contains: Exploitation and Destruction
Bush's Administration has no shame, it seems Congress has little and WE THE PEOPLE, need to constantly put the pressure on to stop these greedy acts in our name with our tax dollars!
President Bush is more than happy to help out his GMO friends in our names while hurting the worlds small farmers.
Examples of how GMOs hurt small farmers around the world with their deceptive, greedy tactics.
In traditional agricultural, farmers can recycle seeds from one harvest to plant the next, or swap seeds with their neighbors at little or no cost. But when it comes to engineered seeds like Bt cotton, Monsanto owns the tiny speck of intellectual property inside each hull, and thus controls the patent. And a farmer wishing to reuse seeds from a Monsanto plant must pay to relicense them from the company each and every growing season.

Meanwhile, a cunning PR campaign to uplift the image of Monsanto, a name which each person should be repulsed at the mention of..a name that is literally soiled with death and feces.

Monsanto and the American Farm Bureau have teamed up to sponsor a PBS program called America's Heartland. The idea, they say, is to educate citizens about farming, but others see a more suspecious motive - the softening of Americans views toward factory farming and genetic engineering. "Having built its California audience with a typically cheerful tone and general avoidance of controversies underlying the state's food supply, the new national "Heartland" has a two-year financial commitment, station officials said, from the powerful voice of the nation's farming establishment, the American Farm Bureau Federation, and St. Louis-based agribusiness giant Monsanto Co. Both sponsors decline, as does KVIE, to say how much they're spending. But the investment is significant. 'It takes seven figures to produce a show like this,' said Jan Tilmon, KVIE vice president for content and a creator of "California Heartland." "We project that the first season of the program will be available in markets totaling more than 60 percent of the nation's viewers ... reaching more than 71 million households." says Jim O’Donnell, Director of Program Marketing, KVIE-TV "Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman of Modesto has also helped introduce the new national show by talking up 'a tremendous amount of viewers' for the California version". This comes at a time when public broadcasting is increasingly coming under major control of Republican interests
It is time to STOP BUSH and the politics of greed and corruption.
So take a moment, send an email to Congress and help Stop Bush’s
Boitech Bailout.
