Yesterday, Hillary Clinton made comments about the campaign and the Democratic nominating process. These comments can be found here.
In response to these comments, Keith Olbermann has issued a Special Comment, that I urge everyone to watch. The video can be found here.
More over the jump.
These comments, I believe, were not made with the intent that many believe is there, and I believe that, at her heart and in her soul she did not mean that she wants or believes Obama will be injured. However, she did utter these disturbing comments, and any utterance of such devastating events must be viewed as unseemly and extremely inappropriate. The safety of any presidential candidate is a very serious issue, and cannot be viewed lightly. These comments put thoughts in disturbed people's heads, and give them an inner justification for any hostile action.
The distasteful comments of the Clinton campaign, intended or not, must stop. Her actions and comments are not up to the standard of the presidency, and my opinion of her has been severely damaged.
Overall, I attribute these comments to her desire to win, regardless of the cost. If her initial intentions, at the start of this campaign, were selfless, then those goals and objectives have been completely thrown out the window. I am embarrassed for her. Currently, and with increasing presence over the past couple of months, her sole goal is to win, no matter the cost to Barack Obama, the Democratic Party, or the public at large. These comments are simply the culmination of the transformation of what was once a great advocate and legislator to a divisive, relentless politician. It is truly a shame to see such an upsetting and disappointing event.
