I saw this particular gem on another message board, and just couldn't resist...

  1. The only demographics you care about are white women over 50, and uneducated whites east of the Mississippi.
  1. Even though national polling shows Obama faring better than Clinton in a head-to-head race vs. McCain, and Hillary's negatives over 50% (with Obama's only around 40%), you are SURE Hillary has a better chance to win.
  1. You are in favor of selling pardons (FALN, New Square, Marc Rich) for campaign cash & votes, so long as it helps your candidate.
  1. You are very concerned about Jeremiah Wright, but absolutely unconcerned about documented lies about sniper fire in Bosnia and Hillary's role in NAFTA or Northern Ireland, or misleading campaign tactics that hide Clinton's role in jobs being shipped to China (Magnequench plant in Indiana).
  1. You are willing to accept racism (the view that "the black man can't win," plus boasting about support from "hard working whites"), but are utterly opposed to sexism, unless it helps your candidate win votes from women who vote for women only because they're women.
  1. The only states that matter are Ohio, Florida, and Pennsylvania because the electoral map of 2004 will never, ever change.
  1. You believe that fiscal responsibility in a campaign is unimportant -- as evidenced by your acceptance of Hillary's tactic of leaving large bills unpaid (such as the $55,000 owed to Indiana University and $60,000 reportedly owed to various North Carolina vendors).
  1. Despite your candidate losing in delegate count, states won, and (yes) popular vote (not to mention recent polls showing Obama ahead of Hillary nationally by double-digits), you insist there is some metric that will still show Hillary winning the election.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

I don't think it's really very helpful at this stage.  Just as I don't appreciate being categorized as being a cult-follower of a hopeful optimist, I think that it's counterproductive to stereotype all of Clinton's supporters as delusional schemers.  We're going to need them, so we should stop pissing on them, imho.

I have friends and relatives who support Clinton based on their preference for her policy positions and their deeply held belief in her work ethic, etc.  None of them wastes time on the extremist fringe of hillaryis44 and neither will I.  Most know that her late-in-the-campaign tactics have grown borderline desperate (i.e. FLA/MI), and I doubt that any of them will be defending her RFK comments. Many, if not all of them, are prepared to vote for Obama and know that his nomination is inevitable.  They know that his campaign has kicked her campaign's butt.  These people aren't Geraldine Ferroro types, just people like you and me with a differnt point-of-view.

I'd rather have them welcomed with open arms vs. being treated like lepers when they come on-board.  Again, imho.

    •  Some will cut off a nose to spite a face.... (0+ / 0-)

One of many things that I have learned over the past 7+ years since the Bush Coronation is that there will always be those who will vote against their best interests because of a misguided idea of payback.

Devout Clinton followers are what they are...I'm not certain what that is, but I am certain that it involves an ability to suspend reality and revel in fantasy.  There will be a percentage of them who will cut off their noses to spite their respective faces by voting for Sen. McCain as some sort of payback for their hurt feelings that came about not because of Clinton's critics who are many, but because of Clinton's low brow, underhanded approach and world view.

I remain prepared to support whoever gains the Dem nomination.  We simply will not remain a representative democracy if the Repugs continue to whittle at our Constitution and Bill of Rights.  Reality tells me that our nominee will be Sen. Obama.  Reality also tells me that Sen. Clinton is behaving in a childish, churlish manner and to the extent that she is making it more difficult for Sen. Obama to win in November, she is harming our party and more importantly, she is harming the welfare and future of our country.

Sen. Clinton supporters who are focused upon the payback of voting for McCain if their candidate does not get the Dem nomination should consider the very real concept of Karma...or as we hicks from the sticks like to say..."What goes around, comes around".

May God Bless our troops wherever they are. Best regards, El Tomaso

grab freshly charged battery pack for cordless hand drill.
Insert smallest, and longest metal drill and tighten down the drill's jaws.
Start up drill, and using well lit mirror, aim for own frontal lobes. Numbing the skin ahead of time with ice and alcohol (either applied topically, or in far greater amounts, internally) helps reach the bone faster.

Once hole through bone is finished, grab dental pick, insert in hole, and twist around repeatedly.

While I disagree with Clinton supporters, calling them "Hilbots" is as dumb as the Hillary backers who say we support Obama because we are mezmerized by his speechifying -- which is to say, VERY dumb.  When Obama clinches the nomination in a few weeks, we will be turning to Clinton people and asking for their support.  Obama himself already has his eye on the fall campaign and we should do likewise.  Clinton has lost, which makes the above practically antique already -- oh, and point #3 is just a wingnut retread.

I will vote for whoever or whatever the Democrats nominate -- animal, vegetable or mineral.

If it makes the Clintons look bad, it's true.

I voted for Bill twice, with no particular enthusiasm, and I'm grateful to Obama for giving me a chance not to vote for a Clinton again (though I suppose I should be grateful to Hillary too -- had she voted against the Iraq war resolution, she would be sailing to the nomination now).  But bitching about the pardons is pure GOP bullshit -- and no, I will not do your googling for you.

    and somewhat confused....

Why I want Hillary to continue. I feel Hillary has won the popular vote, that the people have spoken. The moneyed special interest groups that support Obama are trying to take over the Democratic party from the working man and the poor. Because of this I feel a third party run by Hillary is essential in taking back the party from these outsiders. I am requesting Hillary to allow me to sing at her inauguration hear me at www.myspace.com/xxxxxxxxxx . I think it would be fitting as I have a photo of me shaking her hands on the beach in Hawaii, when Mr Clintion gave the first speech on the beach.
