This, from Hillary Clinton's statementyesterday:
I am running for all those women in their 90s who've told me they were born before women could vote, and they want to live to see a woman in the White House. For all the women who are energized for the first time, and voting for the first time. For the little girls - and little boys - whose parents lift them onto their shoulders at our rallies, and whisper in their ears, "See, you can be anything you want to be." As the first female candidate in this position, I believe I have a responsibility to finish this race.
This should serve to take ALL of the wind out of the sails of anyone still deigning to accuse Obama's supporters of stirring up misogynist arguments against Clinton. After all, making ANY statements about a certain candidate's sex is sexism, whether they are positive or not. When Clinton states outright that she should be the nominee based upon her sex, it is SHE who is is participating in sexism.
Please, let's put to rest this silly argument to rest. And, as a diarist pleaded yesterday: Geraldine Ferraro, STFU.
