When I first heard of the truly awesome things that McClellan had verified in his new book, I really was expecting a different reaction from the crowd that knew all of these things all along. I must say, I am really surprised by the "he should have come forward sooner" argument.
I think this is why, we on the left, get labeled as poor war/security candidates. Some of our most vocal "strategists", the arm chair critics, Members of the "new media" and "old" have suggested pulling a, for lack of a bettter term, secret agent at the first sign of inpropriety, instead of allowing that agent to continue his quest from lapdog to alpha dog. This just isn't the way you gather information in a conflict. Whether personal, political or militarially.

What if McClellen left the podium in 2003? We'de be missing the behind the scenes from the remaining 4 eventful BushCo years. A huge verification, from an inside member of the right, that, hell yeah those crazy lefty's assumptions were correct.
I don't care if his rational was money, or an honest attempt to cleanse his soul. He's, at the least, given us the ammo to waste a pro-war candidate in November. (If not impeach a President today, he really does paint Bush into a corner.)
I watched this guy on "The Today Show" this morning. I think he came off as genuine. He likened the old 2000 Bush, that he cherished, to today's Obama, in regards to wanting to change the politics of Washington. To me it felt like an endorsment. At the very least, an attempt to make sure the future president (Obama) doesn't fall off the "Change" mantra, as he thinks Bush did.
While you wish that McClellens book stopped at the build-up to Iraq, the right is painting him as a disgruntled employee. We need to focus on legitimizing McClellen's words, not bash his reasoning even more.
There are people out there that still think that the BushCo's "dung" doesn't stink. Whatever the reasoning the stink that McClellan is providing needs to stick this time.
Basically, Don't hate the player hate the game.
