outside of the rules committee meeting on Saturday.
Robert Draper, author of a book on Bush and a political contributor for GQ, was on Race to the White House tonight. They were doing one of there rounds of what the guests considered to be headlines (I checked for video, and did not find it, I'll see if I can transfer it from my DVR later tonight).
More over the fold
Draper claimed that his headline was that Obama wasn't protesting that the rules committee meeting. He went on to explain that Clinton was busing people in, and that she was pulling out all the stops to let the rules committee know that HRC wants the FL and MI votes to count.
He went on to relay that Obama had sent a message to his supporters specifically telling them not to go. Of course he stopped there. He definitely left the impression that Obama wanted to send a message that the FL and MI votes weren't important.
He failed to mention that the same message specifically mentioned that people do something more productive to the party and join get out the vote efforts.
I'm really worried about how HRC and the MSM are going to spin this event. Several threads today have claimed that Obama knows what he is doing, and that we just have to trust in the campaign, but I'm really worried that the press is already spinning this as a positive for Clinton.
I dread to think how they will spin it if they rule significantly in her favor - it will be the Wednesday after Texas, Ohio and Pennsylvania all over again.
Sign my worried and hopeful that Obama is right on this one.
