If you've ever thought how much the rabid Hillary supporters who attack Obama sound like Republicans, well, maybe some of them are. There is something fishy about one of the leading "pro-Hillary" sites, Hillaryis44.com.
By the way - it is a rhetorical question. Subtlety is lost on some people.
Hillaryis44.com is a blog of sorts by an anonymous writer who says
to know Obama is to loathe him ...women, latinos, white working class voters, rural voters, African-American Hillary supporters - will NOT vote for Obama under any circumstances.
the anonymous writer promises to
analyze why Obama cannot be trusted on any issues and why it makes sense to reject Obama
The meme this anonymous writer is pushing is that Hillary is being opposed by "the Democratic Party establishment and Big Media" who are trying to "force feed" Obama - "a Big Media tool" - onto the Democratic Party.
Barack Obama is destroying the Democratic Party and Dean/Brazile/Pelosi are aiding Obama in the destruction of the Democratic Party.
The blog's manifesto is that:
the majority of Democrats will begin to organize 3 months before the Democratic? (sic) convention in opposition to the force fed, Big Media, candidate...networks of Hillary supporters from all parts of the United States will meet and organize and plan and build lists and circulate millions of emails day after day...the Hillary Clinton army will make it clear that there will be no November "unity", no "healing" without Hillary at the Helm.
Because, as the anonymous writer on Hilaryis44.com claims:
we know who our nominee is — Hillary Clinton.
No argument for how Hillary Clinton is the nominee is given. No argument on why Hillary should be president is given. In fact, there is very little attempt to extol Hillary or to make a case for her election(even the "Why Hillary?" page does not offer a single reason to support Hillary, just a broken link to contribute money to the blog). Instead the site is devoted to a drumbeat of trashing Obama as "unelectable" and anyone and everyone in the Democratic Party and the media as a crazed evil Hillary Hater. The blogs "analysis" is, to be charitable, flawed and incomplete, repeatedly taking articles and comments out of context and spinning them to the level of outright fabrication. Everyone who doesn't support Hillary is a "misogynist" and the leader of all of this evil is Barack Obama who has corrupted everyone he touches.
So who is the anonymous writer behind this propaganda device? The writer is not at all proud of his or her handiwork. Instead, the writer has taken pains to hide their tracks.

A private registration. Hmmm. A peek at Domains by Proxy shows that this registry service is designed to allow people to hide their identity.
The writer behind hillaryis44.com is someone with something to hide. While everyone deserves a level of privacy, it arouses suspicion when a blogger hides their identity. "Anonymous reports are beneath our dignity to believe" someone once said. When a blogger lacks the courage to show themselves while they spew racist hate and libel everyone who they disagree with - that is shameful, cowardly, and despicable.
One could argue that this anonymous blogger is some fanatical Hillary supporter who is just experiencing an extreme case of sour grapes. Perhaps they were one of the childish lunatics shouting from the balcony at the RBC meeting. I think not though given that there is very little pro-Hillary about the blog, only attack after attack on Barack Obama and anyone who supports him. Hillaryis44.com should be named "IHateBarack.com." Nor is this hatred for Obama something recent. Going back to the earliest archives of the blog (though the anonymous author has removed earlier blog entries) some can be seen here: http://web.archive.org/... the attacks on Obama are unscrupulous and hateful as early as May 2007. The special attention the anonymous blogger gives to alleged "wise African-Americans who don't support Obama" (Uncle Toms?) contributes to the racist overtones of the blog. The anger at everyone in the Democratic party - no Democrat is praised in the blog, not even Hillary - indicates this is about something more than just hating Obama.
No, the possibility that this person is just a regular Democrat supporting their candidate is belied by all of the evidence they put out in their blog. This is not politics, this is, as they say themselves, "civil war." Given the vitriol and deliberate divisiveness of the writer, it seems that there is only one reason the anonymous writer is cowardly pushing this blog - they are a Karl Rove-wannabee with one-tenth the brains but all of the desire to sabotage the Democratic party through lies and race-baiting.
P.S. - Please also read "IAmNobody's excellent statistical analysis of Hillaryis44.com's users Here.
UPDATE: Thanks to verily for posting one theory on who is behind Hillaryis44.com. If Ben Smith is right it proves my point about Hillaryis44.com - the blog is written by a single person who is nether a Hillary supporter or a Democrat but trying to sabotage the Democratic Party.
UPDATE 2: Thanks to all the good comments and recommendations. Alas, three people responded kinda troll-like. The point of this diary is not "breaking news" but analysis and commentary. I have noticed an unfortunate trend on Daily Kos of some people who have little to say other than "someone else already wrote on this topic," implying that because someone on another site wrote on this issue six months ago the topic should not be discussed again, even though the topic is still a live one. How is that a positive contribution? If we really did limit Daily Kos diaries to only new subjects we'd have very little to read on here. I believe that the more speech the better on important issues. Let everyone have their say.
UPDATE #3: Please also check out some wonderful work by The Red Pen, including this diary and and recommends this blog. See? isn't working together more valuable?
