And he is the nexus of the liberal blogworld.
Here is the service, in a nutshell: OUR candidate, Barack Obama, SUCKS, from a leftist point of view. (And yes, I can say that, as a gay man taking liberties).
Yes, yes, everyone will say that who is a troll, Daily Kos being inundated by McCain trolls. So how is that a service?

First of all, right now, among Barack Obama supporters, the world is divided into 3 groups:
- Barack Obama supporters.
- Former Hillary supporters
- McCain voters and Republicans
The first service I can do is to tell you, the world is not that simple.
How does Barack Obama suck, in the view of a gay, white, atheist? Let me count the ways.
First of all, Barack Obama has a black preacher problem. And I do not say that in a racist way. For me, first there was Donnie McClurkin, second was KirbyJohn Caldwell, and only at last and noticed by the media, was Jeremiah Wright. All are black preachers, and in this, I am stating a fact, not an opinion.
The person who I had the least problems with of all of these people was Jeremiah Wright. And by the way, I am sick of Barack Obama supporters claiming to not understand or have heard about Donnie McClurkin. Also Barack Obama supporters claiming that Barack Obama apologized for his disservice to gay people -- he didn't. For those people, Google is your friend. Saying that "happy gays" need not fear the wrath of ex-gay homophobes is not an "apology".
Don't even try to argue with me without being fully versed in this (to what Barack Obama supporters like to think of as) arcana. For one thing, you'll lose. I know the history here, and am not interested in arguing with those who don't. Don't try to turn your ignorance about the homophobia of Donnie McClurkin, or the homophobic direct associations, Barack Obama has with the black churches into an asset, or try to turn this around on me as "racism".
But, for the record, Donnie McClurkin was officially sanctioned by Barack Obama's campaign in South Carolina. Donnie McClurkin spoke about the ex-gay community in glowing terms, and Barack Obama refused the help of the gay community in resolving this problem. Donnie McClurkin compared gay people to rapists, Barack Obama's campaign refused to deal when it came to Donnie McClurkin being a sponsor to his campaign.
Why is this a problem? Because it's NOT a "one-off" as portrayed by the "traditional media".
Ironically, the black preacher with whom I had the fewest problems, was Jeremiah Wright. I actually have few problems with Jeremiah Wright, other than his proclaiming that AIDS (the HIV virus) was a project by the Federal government as an experiment.
But, the problem is, this goes to pattern. Early on, before his election campaign, Obama wrote a screed (and it was a screed) talking about how atheism was a pox on this country, how the non religious were somehow "persecuting" the religious. Ironicially, this was the FIRST problem I had with Barack Obama, before Donnie McClurkin and the gay stuff came up.
The problem here is as big a problem for the left as right wing Christianist Republicanism is on the right.
Second, Barack Obama personally benefitted, via his parents, from the Loving V. Virginia court decision. This decision, in plain language, sets out marriage as a human right. In his case, Barack Obama was born of a black man and a white woman.
It can be argued that Barack Obama, himself, is a child of the rejection of anti-miscenegation laws.
Barack Obama, though, is a failure in terms of the Loving V. Virginia decision. Barack Obama believes it is a state's duty to approve or deny gay marriage in any given state. In this, Barack Obama is a hypocrite.
In this, I believe, Barack Obama's campaign is denying its central message of CHANGE. We have had eight years of Bush pandering on anti-gay homophobia. Do we really want Barack Obama relying on eight more years of homophobia to get his agenda through the Congress?
Third, and this goes to the list above:
Barack Obama is not the messiah. Barack Obama is not a good debater. Barack Obama is not comfortable in an audience with whom he personally disagrees.
Barack Obama gives good speeches, and is accused by right wing Republicans of being a "marxist".
But, how will he perform in a debate with John McCain?
We need at least the last to defeat John McCain.
Third, and I suppose, this might be the last, most interesting part:
The group of all people who are Americans are not divided into the above list. And Barack Obama will need every last vote (Including in Colorado, my home state) to win.
Here is what I suggest:
#1: Barack Obama develops a SPINE:
If you believe in unity, you beieve in unity. There is no fucking way around that.
If you say you are for UNITY, then, act in a way that says you are for unity. I am sorry if for most Daily Kos denizens is a mild point.
Don't be an ignorant Obama supporter. Understand his positions. And, either support those positions or work to change them. And, in doing so, understand Barack Obama's theme of CHANGE.
If you believe in Barack Obama, you have to work towards his theme.
Me, I do NOT believe in Barack Obama.
So, fine.
Prove me wrong.
I want, more than anything, to be proven wrong.
If you believe in Unity, you believe in UNITY OF CIVIL RIGHTS.
Otherwise, you are a fucking hypocrite.
Update Wow, I pissed a bunch of people off!
To be honest, I'm glad I did. It proves to me that you care. I'm touched.
To state the obvious, by my history (which I don't expect people to have read), no I don't want John McCain to win this election. But you all are so passionate about Barack Obama being the nominee, that I figure, my "support" is not needed. That's pretty cool in one way, very scary in another.
I am blessed by the Democratic Party this year having a whole bunch of unabashedly pro-gay candidates. They need my support, my funds, and Obama is going to get my vote anyway, if not my donations. If a frank discussion about what constitutes "support" for the Democratic nominee is supposed to consist of, other than the vote, is out of order on this blog, we are in big trouble and the relevance of places like Daily Kos is ultimately going to be questionable.
Obama through his use of McClurkin, basically as much as stated he does not need gay support in this election. To which I say, "fine". There are a ton of other issues that DO need our financial support, such as the SSM marriage issue in California.
What I want, is for Obama supporters to lower their rhetoric and realize that "unity" is not necessarily kowtowing to the nominee.
