Senatorial Dems
I cannot believe someone is try to unseat John Kerry as a Senator. I am not talking about the GOP, but Ed O'Reilly.
For what every reason, there are Dems out there, determined to destroy the party from within side. This week Frank Lautenberg survived a challenge, which to me, was a primary that should have never happened in the first place.
I might be missed something, but what is the criteria for stabbing a fellow Democrat in the back?
People have a short memory when it comes to Frank Lautenberg, he retired from politics and rode off into the sunset, only having to comeback, inorder to save the NJ senate seat because Torricelli had been linked to a corrupt businessman. Is this how Dems return the favor, by trying to toss Lautenberg over the side.
In the case of Kerry, I cannot think of one valid reason why he needs a primary which will only distract him from retaining his senate seat?
No sitting Democrat has the divine right to stay in their elected post, but then again, i need a really good reason to unseat some one like Kerry.
If a politican is corrupt, financially or morally, or does a Zell Miller, fair enough, but if we subject Democrats to perpetual primaries, eventually the party will cease to function.
As well as personnel, are Democrats keen to lose the Senatorial seat in MA? People forget, if Obama wins the Presidency, he is going to need all the support in the house and senate. We all know that the GOP are going to block and filibust Obama to their heart's content. Their logic will be, if we cant win, then we will frustrate. Does Ed O'Reilly want to make Obama's life a misery, by helping the GOP win MA?
When Ned Lamont won his primary in CT, a lot of Dems where dancing in the Nzone, but today we are still reaping his loss, Lieberman bolted the party, and using his Senate seat to beat on Obama, anyone for a bit of buyer's remorse?
If Lautenberg had losted, would he had gone quietly? Do we want Kerry to run as a 3rd party candidate?
Is there anyone in IL fancy running against Obama in 2010, if he is still a senator, because if Dems can run against Lautenberg or Kerry, I cant think why Obama should be safe?
