Tuesday night, in between creepy forced smiles, Senator McCain told us the idea that he was advocating a third Bush term was a total lie:
You will hear from my opponent's campaign in every speech, every interview, every press release that I'm running for President Bush's third term. You will hear every policy of the President described as the Bush-McCain policy. Why does Senator Obama believe it's so important to repeat that idea over and over again? Because he knows it's very difficult to get Americans to believe something they know is false
Unfortunately it seems that not everyone on the Straight Talk Express got the memo. Senator Lindsey Graham, one of McCain's top surrogates, had this to say to George Stephanopoulus Sunday morning:
STEPHANOPOULOS: Let me bring Senator Graham back in on this because you brought up two. You said the tax policy and the health care policy were essentially, Senator Graham, John McCain is calling for an extension or maybe enhancement of the Bush policies.
GRAHAM: Yeah, absolutely
That's right folks. Straight from Camp McCain's mouth to your ear. John McCain is more of the McSame.
