In an exclusive interview with the London Times, George W. Bush expressed regret that his legacy was as a warmonger.
But if you read the article, it turns out he's not sorry he started the war, he's just sorry he sounded all warmongery while he was doing it.

It looks as though the trip across the Atlantic has given our Commander-in-Chief a different perspective. He looks at himself and sees, well, a poor misunderstood guy.
The Times article notes:
In an exclusive interview, he expressed regret at the bitter divisions over the war and said that he was troubled about how his country had been misunderstood. "I think that in retrospect I could have used a different tone, a different rhetoric."
Ah, I get it. In retrospect, he wishes he'd used less aggressive language to cheerlead for his illegal invasion.
Phrases such as "bring them on" or "dead or alive", he said, "indicated to people that I was, you know, not a man of peace".
Yeah, I know. Gee, I don't know how that rumor got started.
Acknowledging that his refusal to ratify the Kyoto Protocol once created consternation in Europe, he said that there was now a recognition that that richer countries needed to "transfer out of the hydrocarbon economy".
He what? Who is this? Does he even know what he's saying?
One thing he does know, that Obama guy is scaring Europe.
But he delivered a thinly veiled warning to Mr Obama that his promises to renegotiate or block international trade deals were already causing alarm in Europe and beyond.
