My husband found this gem on the Huffington Post site today. It really summarizes the argument for voting Republican in a concise and entertaining way. I, for one, found it undeniably compelling.
I also think it is an excellent companion piece to yesterday's front page article

As an African-american and a woman, the Republican party appeals to me for so many reasons. First and foremost, I want no part of making history by electing America's first Black president. George W. Bush has a couple of Black friends and that's good enough for me. Besides, identity politics went out with mood rings and the ERA.
Second, I fully and totally support the war. You know, the one in Iraq, plus the one on terrorism. These wars have been meticulously planned, brilliantly executed and tremendously effective. I can only hope that these or other wars are still raging when my boys are old enough to fight--they're already 6!
Third, Republicans know that there is no problem for which the free market cannot find a solution. No better example of this exists than the area of health care. Republican nominee John McCain says that the real problem with our health care, eh, system is that we don't have enough choices. In a faltering economy with rising fuel costs, a slumping job market and a housing market not even Cialis could revive, the answer is clear. We need more insurance companies to charge unaffordable premiums for policies that offer bare bones coverage with sky high deductibles. Sign me up!
Fourth, polar bears, ice caps, bumblebees, glaciers, carbon footprints, mass transit, Florida, California, New York, New Orleans and all other low lying, densely populated areas can kiss my ass. Nobody tells me what to drive, where to live, what container to drink my water out of, which country to invade for oil or how many plastic bags I need to bring my gallon of milk home. Global warming is a hoax clearly exposed by the ridiculously cold winter we had in Wisconsin this year. Case closed.
Fifth, as a teacher, I absolutely support the GOP's sweeping education reform legislation, the No Child Left Behind Act. No one understands better than a teacher the importance of demanding accountability and reform while underfunding and mismanaging at the highest level in order to put maximum stress on schools that are already battling unprecedented budget cuts.
One last point. How in the world is my marriage going to survive if my gay neighbors get to do it, too? Obviously I don't even have to spell this one out.

SNARK UPDATE: Great news! This video made the rec list! Unfortunately, it's in another diary that I didn't write, posted after mine, minus the commentary and the snarky poll. Oh well...better luck next time.
