The same point that many people have been making was just made by on Countdown by Keith Olbermann. He pronounced Fox Noise as the worst persons in the world for merely saying that Tim Russert was a member of the liberal media.
Merely, I say, because that's not such a dig at Tim given that many consider NBC and MSNBC the more liberal news networks and Tim is a member of those networks. It's not an inaccurate statement despite the timing.
However, this was enough for Keith to castigate Faux News as the worst persons in the world today. Flop News didn't even say that Mr. Russert was a bad journalist or that he didn't do his job. They didn't make any other statements that were negative toward Mr. Russert. But nonetheless, they were the worst today.
It doesn't mean Keith is the official pronouncer of the worst of the worst and he's obviously biased by his close association with Tim Russert, but he took issue with the ghoulish timing of such pronouncements. Apparently he agrees with many people who, like me, believe there will be more than enough time down the road to dispassionately discuss the full legacy of Tim Russert.
I apologize for beating this horse; it's badly wounded at best but so many others have taken a whack that I hesitated to grab the bat.
