Not much in the way of presidential polls so far today. On the frontpage, Kos discusses the latest Rasmussen FL poll.
Better news from Rasmussen is in the Colorado Senate race. Mark Udall (D) leads Bob Schaffer (R) 49% to 40%. Last month it was 47-41. In April, this race was a statistical tie.
From Rasmussen: Link
ALL Dems Reps Ind Favorable Unfav
Udall (D) 49 84 12 51 56 35
Schaffer (R) 40 08 84 30 47 45
I don't have the actual numbers, but Ras says Udall's lead comes from women, with whom he has a 16-point lead.
Perhaps the most important part:
Among voters not affiliated with either major political party, Udall leads 51% to 30%. Those numbers represent a considerable improvement for the Democrat since last month, when he led 45% to 33% in that demographic.
Considering the favorables, and the huge lead among independents, Udall is in a very good spot. This is looking more and more like a likely Dem pickup.
It would be natural for Udall to get some face time at the Convention in Denver, as well. I see him and Obama feeding off of each other to make CO safely blue in both races.
