Some of you Kossacks know I sent around an action item on Sunday morning via mybarackobama.com regarding an idiot who was selling racist t-shirts on EBay.
The guy was selling those monkey with a banana t-shirts and even after more than several of us reported the seller, EBay did nothing.
I had originally emailed the Seller to ask him if he knew the shirts were racist just to see how he would respond. He responded with "did you know you are stupid?" I then responded that he was reported and he wrote back to say he reported me and to leave him alone. I know that others have contacted this guy as I saw some postings on the mybarackobama boards.
This guy is a real piece of work and now 4 days later and the asshat is back at it.
You can view the offensive shirts by this guy here:
He has 4 shirts up for auction again today and EBay did NOTHING about it when complaints were sent and they let the auctions continue until the time expired through out the day on Sunday.
Here is the description:
Here are the item numbers:
Updated
Item number: 130232102865
Item number: 130232102912
Item number: 130232102965
Item number: 130232317738
Here is their policy:
Now EBay is selling plenty of funny Political T-Shirts both pro and con for both candiates (sorry didn't look for any Bob Barr ones, but the idea of those alone are funny), but these racist t-shirts are ovbiously disgusting and in violation of EBay's own policy.
These are the same T-Shirts that got major attention two weeks ago when Marietta Georgia bar owner Mike Norman started selling them and who claimed that the shirts were "not meant to offend," yet acknowledged "the imagery’s Jim Crow roots".
These are the same shirts that Curious George Pulisher may sue over.
So what can we do? A few things actually...
- Stop buying and selling on EBay until they resolve this.
- Tell all your friends and family to do the same.
- If you have an EBay account I urge you to please complain about the seller’s items on line.
Click on EBay Help in the upper right hand corner. Scroll down to the Listing Violations button and click on it. Then on to the next page.
Select a subtopic - Listing Violations and click on Prohibited (banned items), then click on Report a listing violation or prohibited (banned)
Offensive and potential offensive items, then 3rd, Hateful, discriminatory or racial language. I also chose "other potententally offensive items" OR Counterfeit and copyright infringements, sub category: potential trademark infringement. We may have better luck (sadly) if they think they will get sued. You will then get an email button to click on to contact them. Please have the above numbers ready in this fashion:
130232102865, 130232102912, 130232102965, 130232317738
Finally #4. Contact their offices - which is beyond tricky. They do not have an 800# listed or a regular corporate office number listed. I called directory assistance in San Jose 3 times and on the third try I was given the 800 number for Customer Service. So, I went back to their website and went around to their corporate page and looked up the people running the show. If you call the # number below and press the prompt that allows you to go to and extension by last name you can actually leave a message for the higher ups.

I thank you for your time!
