Now I'll never get back the $43.57 from that call to Sri Lanka that showed up on my bill. I don't know anyone in Sri Lanka! And now the telephone company is telling me that I owe it anyway. My only recourse is to to sue them in a court of law. My neighbor has a kid who just graduated from law school and he's even willing to take my case.
I'm ready to go. I even bought a new suit for this lawsuit.
But now Barack Obama is granting the Telcos immunity! I'm screwed. We're all screwed!
What if a telephone line breaks and falls on top of you and shocks you worse than a taser. You're out of luck, pal. IMMUNITY!
What if your telephone company is your cable company, as well, and the cable goes down during the Olympics and they don't fix it until October. Sorry. IMMUNITY!
What if one of those telephone repair guys runs over your dog in one of their vans. Tough break. IMMUNITY!
What if you own stock in the telephone company and the Board of Directors plunder all the assets leaving the stock price at $0.00. Shoot dang it. IMMUNITY!
The only thing good about this whole immunity mess is that the President can use it in dealing with the terrorists in Guantanamo. He can enlist the telephone companies to have the lines go dead every time those terrorists try to call a lawyer, or their families, or the media. Then the terrorists can't use that Habeas Corpus thing because they can't sue the telephone companies. IMMUNITY!
I know, since I don't live in Appalachia, that I'm supposed to vote for Barack Obama. But this immunity thing has me boiling mad. I hope when Obama finally serves out his 2 terms that we'll get a new President in 2016 that revokes immunity. Because I'm keeping that telephone bill with the Sri Lanka call in the hopes I can get my money back some day.
