I do not blame all Christians for his actions, but this man is insane.

The investigators found that Freshwater: Used a high-frequency generator to make the shape of a cross into the arm of eighth-grade students; consistently failed to adhere to established curriculum under the American Content Standards for eighth-grade science and taught religious beliefs in his classroom; exceeded the statutorily imposed limitations of a monitor for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and was insubordinate in his deliberate failure to remove all religious articles from his classroom.
Freshwater continues to maintain that the allegations against him are false. His attorney Kelly Hamilton said the charges of improper use of the electrostatic device are from one particular student and asserted that students were never in danger of harm from Freshwater.
Freshwater said the marks inflicted on the students’ arms were not religious symbols. "They weren’t crosses," he said, "They were Xs."
Now the extreme turns it against the school board as not allowing Bibles in school.

MOUNT VERNON — In a recent letter to the Mount Vernon News, M. Russell Erwin Sr., of the Knox County Chapter of Minutemen United, said the group had started preparations to recall the Mount Vernon school board due to its members’ refusal to publicly answer whether a teacher in the Mount Vernon school system is permitted to have a Bible on his or her desk.
This is why the actions of the Christian right scare me. It is also why I believe we do need a separation of Church and state. I highly Respect all religions and it is a reason why I'm a Christian by belief not religion. More info on this.

MOUNT VERNON — Early this morning, a group calling itself the "Minutemen" waited outside the administrative offices of the Mount Vernon City Schools. The group was reportedly protesting the administration’s directive that middle school science teacher John Freshwater remove his personal Bible from his desk.
See how any action becomes that of just removing the Bible.
"It is about whether or not other teachers in the district can feel free to place a Bible or other personal items on their desk, " he said.
From the parents

"My daughter Arie told me about a Jewish child who brought his Torah to school when other students brought Bibles in support of Freshwater," she continued. "He thought he was supporting freedom of religious expression, and the other kids just ripped him apart. ‘What are you doing?’ they asked. ‘You can’t support Mr. Freshwater, you’re Jewish.’ So they don’t get it.
One mans freedom of religious expression becomes another hate. Only one religious view is allowed when you become that extreme.
Christine Hamilton has two sons in the middle school.
"They have gotten harassed," she said, "because they are friends with the boy [whose parents filed the complaint against Freshwater]. In our country, everyone’s allowed their religious opinion, but some of the middle school kids are just jumping on a bandwagon. If you’re not for Mr. Freshwater, you are going to be harassed. That is flat out what is happening in the middle school. Therefore, I think a lot of kids are for Mr. Freshwater because they don’t want to be harassed, they don’t want to be singled out. And who wants to be against the Bible? Nobody.
This is very scary stuff people.

The lawsuit claims that Freshwater displayed the Ten Commandments, religious posters and Bible passages in his public school classroom, and never received discipline from the school.
According to the lawsuit, Freshwater is accused of teaching intelligent design and telling students that their textbooks were wrong according to The Bible.
