As a resident of Arizona, I have over the years heard nothing good about McCain. In fact when you ask people who live here "what has McCain done for AZ?" you get the same responses, "I don't know" or "nothing". Occasionally you get the "He is a veteran", or the POW comment, but most frequently no one knows why he is a Senator other than he already is one.
If Arizona is so locked down for McCain, why are there not some McCain bumper stickers? I have seen exactly ZERO McCain stickers.
I have seen more Obama stickers than anything else, and I do not live in a college town or major metro of Arizona, this is rural Mohave County Arizona.
The Democratic office(s) in Mohave county must print their own material supporting Obama. Buttons, posters, and stickers are printed by the office volunteers daily so that the demand can be met from people coming in off the streets asking for them.
People in AZ are Hungry for Change. I think the only reason Hillary took the primary here is because there was no real Obama presence here. Luckily there was an office for Obama in Las Vegas, 100 miles away, and the volunteers were able to drive up and get some official merchandise. Now they are waiting for the new Las Vegas office to open so they can get more signs, and brochures to help inform the electorate.
McCain will likely have some sort of office here soon, and that will show that he supports AZ (in the voters minds). They will flock to the person that they think will bring them prosperity, the candidate that will give them hope for a better future.
Please don't overlook or ignore Arizona as a battleground state in this election. We can help make a difference, but we need help too.
