The recent advancements in the North Korea nuke standoff are being used by Obama to spin his stance on talking to our enemies.
The story is that the North has 'declared' their nuclear weapons program since the 80's to China. They also destroyed the monumental cooling tower at its Yongbyon nuclear complex. The recent advacements are a small but positive step in the Bush strategy of "Six Party Talks." Bush's strict policy has been to have no direct contact with North Korea but rather they address South Korea, Japan, Russia, China and the U.S. as a group. This strategy seems to be paying off.
What does Obama do? He spins it. Discussing the recent developments on a Fox Business News interview, he said the following:
'It indicates what can be accomplished when we have direct diplomacy even with our adversaries.'
He is spinning the truth in an attempt to justify his desire to meet directly with our enemies .
This isn't change, this is old politics.
