Most of you are probably unaware of the "contest" going on at myyardourmessage.com to design lawn signs that will be available for ordering, and some of which will be put up around town before the RNC in August.
It seems the Walker Art Center wanted only non-partisan signs. They were not very clear about that in their submission rules. Any sign that mentions a candidate or Republicans or Democrats is being "un-approved" for the contest, unless it's one of those weenie "can't we all just get along" things.
Now as far as I know they might even have legal reasons to do this. I don't know whether they get federal funds and/or are restricted somehow.
I just wanted to make sure the signs that got "un-approved" got seen. So they are linked after the bump.
I'm not about to load these all onto photobucket, so you'll have to click through. 3 of them are mine. I still have two in the running where I didn't use the "R word". There's only one or two right-leaning ones, probably because freepers aren't that creative.

Techie info: they still allow the signs to be directly linked, just they are not in the listings or rotations. They are numbered sequentially, so I just did a little script to figure out what numbers were missing, then another to find the ones that were still there (many of the missing ones were probably deleted by the owner in order to re-make them.)
If you would also like to submit a bland, non-partisan lawn sign design, they are still taking submissions until sometime tomorrow. Voting starts Tuesday. They say they are going to pick 50 of them. They only have 200, with lots of cruft. I think they will have to reduce that goal.
