This is going to be a relatively short diary. I started using Twitter to follow casualties of both the Iraq War ( twitter.com/iraqwar ) and the Afghanistan war ( twitter.com/afghanistanwar ) and noticed how many soldiers were dying everyday in Afghanistan. It seems to be quite a few more than in Iraq. Still most of the media and talk is focused around Iraq but when 2-3 soldiers are dying in Afghanistan every few days, it makes one wonder if we're undermanned in Afghanistan?
Did the "surge" take away the needed force to surpress and root out the Taliban?
Or is this a never ending battle, where troops just irritate the situation?
With the Afghanistan war it also seems that the killed soldiers seem to be consistently older than in the Iraq War. Often in their mid, to late 30's....sometimes mid-40's....
Just wanted to highlight this....that's all. :(
