As you all know, northern and central California is again suffering an incredible amount of forest fires. The air quality is poor at best, and those of us lucky enough to be able to choose to stay inside, do.
These guys however, choose to fight the fires.
Here in Butte County, California, there's a staging/campground for the fire crews that have come to aid the local crews with these devastating fires. Some crews came from as far away as Los Angeles County, about 400 miles, others from neighboring Colusa County.
Wherever they came from, they're here and we are all very thankful to have them!
This fire crew is from San Francisco. They're getting their engine back in order and ready to go back out.
Part of a Los Angeles crew washing their engine, they do keep their fire engines clean!
A Colusa County crew on a much deserved break. I brought my dog Coal along. He was very well received by all the fire fighters, it seems that many have dogs at home that are sorely missed.
This fireman in particular, missed his Labrador and was very happy that Coal would play fetch with him.
A Ukiah crew.
Even their boots need a break now and then!
More engines:
So with that I offer my most heart felt thanks to all fire fighters and rescue workers!
