Sorry for the short diary, and many thanks for the "rescue" last night.
This race is a long shot, I know. And I don't expect this diary to make the Rec List, but it would be nice. Given the economic catastrophe that Ohio has experienced during the past 8 years, electing an honest working-class Democrat from this state shouldn't be too hard. Unfortunately Mike Carroll is facing an uphill battle against incumbent Jim Jordan.
Ohio may have turned blue in 2006, but it's still the state that employs Jean "The Kryptkeeper" Schmidt, and Jim Jordan. A few of us got to know Mike from Facebook, and donated money to his campaign. I understand that even in the grass roots there will be "donor fatigue"; this will be a long race, and victory in November will be very difficult. Let's not get complacent and unjustifiably excited because someone sampled 4,000 people and Sen. Obama is shown to be in the lead. Let's stay humble and hungry to paraphrase an old coach.
Here's Mike's website, and here's his ActBlue page. Unlike Mike Huckabee, the miracles I believe in are man-made..... like Jorgen Oom says "If it's to be, it's up to me".
