The diary title is a bit extreme and I'm aware someone else has added a tiny diary about Joe Scarborough berating Rachel Maddow today (he also happened to play the famous numbers game to humiliate her, a lovely primate maneuver) but I must say, the glove really fits in this particular case. The fun-filled anger inducing video of him and maddow can be found over the speedbump.
Now, I have watched this individual physically intrude Mika's space and continuously force her to play a subservient role on Morning Joe by talking over her & raising his voice in a festinatingly aggressive manner, so as to shut her down and intimate to her, even IF implicitly, that she is subordinate. I wish I had video of Joe attempting to humiliate Mica for claiming that a particular foreign affairs issue was a moral issue (imagine that--something like the Iraq War could be an issue of morality? shocking!). Furthermore, in typical authoritarian fashion, he patronized a woman when she was down and out--Hillary Clinton toward the end of her campaign--in an overcompensatory fashion that made me wretch, as it reminded me of anecdotal experience of guys who verbally abuse their wives then kiss their ass so they don't leave them. Unbelievably pernicious fellow, Scarborough is. In case anyone thinks im conflating separate circumstances to support a misogyny hypothesis spuriously, feel free to watch this video, where he interrupts Rachel:
The attack then proclaim to be the victim maneuver. Lovely. You can also hear him rip his mic off while John Harwood is speaking around 2:40-2:51. Meanwhile, he can admit differences between himself and other males like Chris Matthews and remain relatively equanimous. You do the math as to whether this is misogyny or not.
Note: what's sad is that this guy's behavior is so self-evident, I can go a diary and two videos without mentioning the "Hillary Cackle" comment he made.
Update: Poll time, and his treatment of Mika can be found here. Anyone else upset by this guy yet? Ugh.
Update #2: Wow, Ed Schultz fill-in and MSNBC news correspondant David Schuster dominates Joe Scarborough about waterboarding in this next video, so if those prior videos have you down, then please indulge yourself
