Amy On The Issues
Amy Klobuchar takes so many of the great qualities about Obama and gives us a double-shot.
And if you think that sounds hot, listen to her talk science and environmental policy:
Veeps don't need to "balance" the candidate by being totally different. Gore didn't need Lieberman, and while I think Kerry was helped by the vitality of Edwards, I don't think Edwards would have needed Kerry had Edwards been our nominee.
If you pick a VP for a quality the candidate is professed to lack, you officially concede that your candidate lacks that quality. So just go with someone who first and foremost your candidate likes and trusts, then go with someone who further makes your candidate look good, someone who gets people excited, someone who could draw a big crowd in one state while the candidate is drawing a big crowd in another state. Amy Klobuchar has an essence about her that inspires me about our future. She's my new veep crush.

Amy's campaign bio
The big issue with Amy is Washington experience. She's only been in the Senate for two years. Before that, she was in Minneapolis as a prosecutor for the county for eight years. The way to make this work would be to announce her while flanked with experienced DC hands and respected advisers who will contribute their Washington backgrounds to the mainstream American experience, wisdom, and clear-eyed leadership that Obama and Klobuchar possess in spades.
And what an Obama-Klobuchar ticket will bring to the table is a clean break from the past, a new generation of leadership, and a strong, common-sense, progressive perspective to issues that will offer a clear contrast to McCain. No amount of his tired talk, or the bloviating from any of his potential running mates (Romney anyone?) will be able to break through the clear choice this ticket offers voters.
I especially like this ad about her experiences with the healthcare industry and what she did about it:
Could you imagine if the Democratic Party brought us our first black president in 2008 and our first female president in 2016?
Yes We Can.
