It appears that the ball is now in Conyers' court and it is unclear when he will actually take up the resolution. If nothing else, a public hearing in the Judiciary Committee on this matter is better than nothing at all. It will be worth listening to the high dudgeon coming from the Republican camp.
I will post any updates as I find them.
Update: Rep. Kucinich is expected to offer a "privileged resolution" this afternoon. Stay tuned to C-Span1, I believe. Not sure what time.
Update 2: Had to look up what a "privileged resolution" is and found a pretty good explanation of the process here.
A member submitting a privileged resolution, memorial or motion proposing impeachment is entitled to recognition for one hour in which to debate it. A member recognized to present a privileged resolution may not be taken from the floor by a motion to refer. IMPEACHMENT: Selected Materials p. 769 (Section 468). In order to secure this privilege of debate, however, the proposal must be put in writing and submitted to the Clerk of the House. Id. at pp. 770-71 (Section 470).
Once having submitted an impeachment resolution against a civil officer, then that member's high privilege has expired. Id. at pp. 769-70 (Section 469). This rule apparently does not apply if the member files an amended impeachment resolution containing new charges or other new matters. Id. at 767-69 (Section 468).
Update 3: The House Session is found on C-Span 1. Right now someone is blathering on the beauty of coal. Have to turn down the volume.
Update 4 (2:35 EDT): Per Cspan -- sounds like there will be a series of votes upcoming thus, Kucinich's resolution not be presented for awhile.
Update 5 (2:44 EDT): Removed, see mothership
