... our nation is falling apart and the Republicans are laughing their asses off watching you fall for their diversionary tactics.
You who are having a conniption over the FISA bill are allowing the right-wing to distract you from more meaningful issues, not the least of which is getting Barack Obama elected and preventing McCain's Bush Term III.
But let's take a little overview of some of those other issues you are neglecting while you fetishize over the FISA bill:
*Bush and Cheney have seven more months to wreck havoc on the world and you know they can do far, far worse than listen in on a phone call.
*We are still occupying Iraq. Our soldiers are still dying and being maimed everyday in a senseless occupation while you sit in your easychair wringing your hands over the FISA bill.
*Oh, and Osama bin-Laden is still at large and Bush isn't doing a thing to try and capture him.
*House foreclosures are rising, house prices are declining, and the housing sector is in the worst shape it has been since the Great Depression.
*We still cannot be completely confident that our elections will be free and fair. We never did fully investigate, much less resolve, the 2000 and 2004 election problems.
*The California wild fires should remind you that global warming is real, getting worse, and Bush isn't doing a thing to stop it.
*Bush & Co. are still lying to the American people about all kinds of things, including the leak of Valerie Plame's identity, the decision to invade and occupy Iraq, their energy policy, their plans for Iran, etc., etc., etc.
*Oh, and let's throw in the fact that Bush and Cheney are not facing articles of impeachment.
*New Orleans still has not been fully rebuilt from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
*Employers can, thanks to a Republican-passed Federal law, legally not pay out on life insurance policies and retirement benefits defrauded employees and survivors can do nothing about it.
*We still don't have a workable and affordable health care system in this country.
*Our education system is sub-par and in most areas severely underfunded and bullied by the right-wing and almost no one, aside from us teachers, are even talking about it.
*Gasoline is $4 a gallon, which, surprise!, hurts the poor far more than the rich.
*Oh, and the oil companies have record profits while Congress and the White House insist on keeping the billions of dollars in subsidies for the oil companies.
*What did Cheney talk about with the oil industry anyway on that energy policy? Do we even have an energy policy other than "help the oil companies?
*Inflation is up, payrolls are down, income stagnant, trade deficit rising, consumer confidence down. By every conceivable measure the economy is in bad shape, perhaps the worst in decades if not a half-century. Just don't call it a "recession" is the White House's only answer, other than that $600-per-person bribe.
*Need we replay for your Phil Gramm's statement of McCain's economic policy? Okay, here is the summary: "There is no recession, you aren't hurting, it is a mental fault on your part, we're rich, if you aren't go fuck yourself, or better yet, we will do it for you, or actually - keep doing it."
*Meanwhile the banking industry is teetering and no one knows how bad of shape it is really in. I am sure a McCain administration will at least bail out the banking CEOs.
*Also meanwhile, Bush & Co. are planning to wag the dog with their war on Iran.
*Guantanamo is still open.
*The U.S. is one of the few nations in the world who haven't accepted such treaties as the landmine ban, chemical weapons ban, global warming, etc.
*The trade deficit continues to climb and Bush & Co. wants more "free trade" agreements.
*Oil hit $147 a barrel as I was writing this.
*CEO's and stockholders continue to loot America.
*The Halliburtons and Blackwaters continue to loot Americans.
*We are throwing away how many billions of dollars a month in Iraq?
*What were the oil companies' profits last quarter? Sorry, I can't count that high.
*The Republicans and their 507s (yeah, they coordinate) are crafting lies and attacks against the Democrats and Obama digging up any sign of dissent on the left - I bet they are eating up Daily Kos lately.
*The republicans and their lapdogs in the corporate media are doing everything they can do divide us and weaken us. SO DON'T HELP THEM!!!!
*Racism is still alive and well in this country. Here's just today's example. How much of the "misgivings" about Obama are latent racism????? Though there is hope IF Progressives unite behind a candidate.
*Jessee Helms is dead but thousands of other racist, classist, sexist assholes are still alive and well and spewing their hate, many of them members of the Republican Party.
*Though not all of them are racist, classist, sexist assholes, there are still 199 Republicans in the U.S. House, 49 Republicans (and one Joe Lieberman) in the U.S. Senate, and one big fat idiot Republican in the White House; not to mention thousands of other Republicans in state and local offices across the country.
I could go on and on and on .......
.......
Yet, despite all of this (an SO much more, I know I missed some) some people on Daily Kos are sharpening their rhetorical knives and lubricating their egos by attacking Obama for not doing enough to stop the FISA bill. Sad really. Let's hope they don't do too much damage before they wake up and get back to what matters.
To those new breed of Obama-haters I say, no thanks, I won't get diverted from what is the real issue here - stopping the Republicans from getting the White House again. All of your whining, bitching, and moaning about FISA is only helping the Republicans.
Wake up people! There is no time for this whining!

UPDATE: As I expected, the diary was beset by Purity Trolls. Must we fight the purity wars again? Sure, let's abandon our victory because we are pissed off on one issue. "Agree with ME 100% or I will never support you, Obama!" Hopefully the majority of people are smart enough to to let a few destroy it for all of us.

Damn how could I have forgotten this issue - net neutrality!
WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin Friday said he would not seek to fine cable giant Comcast Corp. for slowing some Internet traffic.
