Last year, we had a great time getting folks together in Second Life to participate virtually at YearlyKos. We also learned a lot about making an event like this effective, and are thrilled to announce NetRootsNation in Second Life.
We will have live video streaming in, at four locations, of the ballroom events, including the Howard Dean keynote on Thursday. We've also got a whole lot of exciting, entertaining and educational panels and social events on the schedule that will take place entirely inworld.
The biggest reason this is so much better second time around is that we've got a big team organizing, building and promoting the event. Jesus' General, Jillan McMillan and Jane2 McMahon have created a vibrant group dynamic that has ideas and content coming from all over. The event has become a gathering point for the different progressive communities in Second Life, just as NetRoots Nation has in the real world.
If you are new to Second Life, there are social events designed to help you get acquainted with the interface, and the nature of the communities. There is one such event scheduled for tonight at 4:30 pm Pacific, running for five hours. You can join Second Life for free, by going to the Second Life website. You can find me, Jimbo Hoyer, inworld for most of the weekend. I'll be monitoring the video streams and hanging out in the main venues during the ballroom activities.
So stop by, check it out. Email me with any questions at jimbohoyer@inworldstudios.com.
