I'm writing a diary on this even though I live down here in the CA - 29th CD (Pasadena).
I am just very proud of my parents, Roger and Sharon, who live in the WA - 04 CD and are working to change that part of the state from Red to Blue. It's hard work and knowing that my wife and I are working in tandem with them to do the progressive, boots-to-the-ground work is an great feeling.
They are working on George Fearing's campaign to defeat incumbent Doc Hastings and on the Obama campaign locally.
There's already a good post on George Fearing here:

and a good post on his opponent Doc Hastings here:

Beyond that though, it's fun making our mutual progressive work a real family focus. It's always something that comes up in our calls with each other. In fact, it brings us together as a family. Knowing that my parents are hard at work on weekends in the Tri-Cities area (Kennewick, Pasco & Richland):
inspires my wife and I to do similar work on behalf of Russ Warner, who is taking on 28 year incumbent, David Dreier in the CA - 26th CD. Here's a link to our last bit of fun/work on behalf of Warner:

Pasadena DFA, the grassroots organization Maddie and I do most of our progressive work through, endorsed Russ Warner earlier this year:

We have a lot to do to back up that endorsement!
Back to the point of me writing this diary. I don't know George Fearing but I love the similarity in work that my parents have with what we are doing down here in California. Knowing that the combined efforts of our family goes beyond the borders of our mutual states is really neat! Knowing that we are helping George Fearing and Russ Warner take on incumbent Republicans in Red districts is fantastic! It makes me smile when I stop and think about it.
