Andrea Mitchell is on Morning Joe (the daily Obama bashing fest on MSNBC) explaining how Obama being greeted so warmly by the people in Europe could be a negative for Obama back home in America.
Obviously you see, being greeted in a positive manner around the world is a lot less desirable back home with Americans than what George Bush received by people around the world over the last 8 years.
The question become then, will BHO be more like JFK or GWB? And which is better for America?
I wish I was more journalistly savvy in listing all the many times GWB got receptions in foreign countries where the masses came out in passionate protest. Signs about war crimes, torture and global warming polluter, etc. And remember how the right wing media would show pictures of all the times people would be in protest when GWB would come to town. I remember some of these protests hitting record numbers.
This was the hey day of the Bush years I recall. Where Americans could fell real proud of how we were perceived by the world. Our Ideals and core values were held in the highest regard, right?
Or do I have that backwards? Was that actually JFK whom I speak when the Germans understood and cheered when JFK said that he was a Berliner? Was that talked about by Andrea's counterparts at the time as a negative for him back home with Americans?
This double edge sword is stupid. Being warmly greeted is a refreshing new way for Europe to great an American leader... it's about time.
