ApachesVote.org and members of the White Mountain Democrats registered 29 members of the White Mountain Apache Tribe to vote in Whiteriver, AZ, during Native American Right to Vote Day.
Arizona Native Americans won the right to vote in a court case 60 years ago. Before that time, all Arizona Indians were considered minors in legal matters, regardless of age.
The Native American vote will be a key to winning AZ-01, one of the Democrats' top prospects for picking up a congressional seat this fall.
