Here are my pictures and stories from Netroots Nation.
Thank you so much to Democracy for America for the scholarship and every single person who donated. I hope we can take even more people next year. I couldn't have attended without the support of people like you all.
I have to agree with BlueJersey, of all the conferences I have ever attended, the people at netroots were the nicest I have every met.
Here are my sparse but fun pictures from the events.
On Wednesday, I got to town an got the swagbag. Inside was a fortune cookie. The fortune said
For some sad reason, you still have high hopes for Ron Paul
I'm happy to have met some wonderful candidates who are running around the country this year. Here are a few of them
Charlie Brown in California's District 4
Darcy Burner in Washington's 8th District
And Donna Edwards from Maryland District 4 (one of my old homes).
It was all pretty amazing. I got to meet the the founders of Drinking Liberally...
And of course met the fabulous Markos...
And probably best of all was meeting the other DFA scholarship winners!
We had wonderful keynotes. Who could forget the Al Gore surprise! "Ask The Speaker" was even better then I had planned on.
And the Register for Change event was also awesome.
Right after Howard Dean spoke, I met some random GreenPeace people who wanted to have their pictures taken with Howard Dean. They didn't have a camera, so I offered to take their pictures and put them up on facebook. I really like how the pictures turned out, so here is an example of one.
And for dessert...the famous Chocolate Fountain
Who can forget the other creative demonstrations going on at Netroots.
We had the Take back your TV campaign dressed up as TVs.
And the un-smiley...
BTW, the Wake-up Walmart campaign was giving away cool t-shirts. Here is a pic of one.
So, beyond the swag, and speakers, I actually enjoyed the exhibit hall quite a bit. There were great groups represented there with information I found handy. I can't wait to introduce it to other people.
Well, that's all for the pictures...Enjoy.
