This is more of a question than a diary, but the VP thread that Markos posted is looking too full of comments to get anything constructive out of, so I'm posing this question in a diary as a way to learn why Russ Feingold doesn't get mentioned much on this site as a possible VP choice.
My reason for asking this question is that in my view, the most important thing a VP candidate can provide is being a good candidate for president some time down the road, and if I had my druthers, I'd like to see Russ Feingold as our president someday. I also think he would be a great voice to have on center stage during this campaign, and he brings with him a great amount of Midwestern credibility that would probably help quite a bit in states such as Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Indiana, and Michigan. I know he went through a divorce, but I don't think 8 years from now that will necessarily be a disqualifier for the presidency, so I'd really like to see him as the frontrunner for the presidency after two hopefully succesful Obama terms. After all, Reagan went through a divorce, McCain went through a divorce. So why not Russ? Let me know your thoughts. I'm very curious why he's not mentioned more around here. I'm probably overlooking something obvious, but anyways...
