I couldn't believe the headline either, but I saw it staring right out in front of me as I was in the super market tonight.  And it was from a powerhouse of journalism, the National Examiner.

Yes, I know, crazy right? The Democratic nominee for president, a man we all spent a lot of time working for, is about to have his marriage fall apart.  It's a sad development for a presidential candidate with so much promise.  It appeared that he had a really good shot of winning the presidential election, but now that's all gone to hell in a hand basket?

Why is the Obama's marriage blowing up? What was the lie that Obama told Michelle that made her so mad?  I don't know, I didn't read the article.  But the headline was on the cover of the extremely reputable National Examiner, so I know if must be true.

How do I know that the National Examiner is so reputable?  Well, it's a supermarket tabloid.  And as we all found out this week, supermarket tabloids are never wrong.

Nothing has made this more clear than the reaction in this community to the piece of reporting in the National Enquirer on John Edwards. I mean, what else besides their 100% accuracy would have caused so many in the Netroots to completely turn their back on one of our strongest allies?  The reputation of the National Enquirer was so strong, that all it took was one flimsy sources story for some to declare John Edwards political career dead.   After all, they are usually so accurate in telling us which celebrity has packed on the pounds, it's only natural to assume that their excellence in reporting has extended to politics.

So where do we go from here, now that we know our presidential candidates marriage is on the rocks?  Do we power through, or do we try to replace him? If we were to replace him, who would we replace him with?  John Edwards is obviously out, and so is Hillar Clinton, since she is secretly a lesbian.  It has been confirmed that Chris Dodd has an alien baby, so I am flat out of ideas.

All I know is that I'm thankful we have such fine reporting in the National Examiner to alerting us to the true nature of our party's presidential nominee, so that we still have time to deal with this very serious and pressing issue before the convention.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
