At least, that's what the Republicans should be saying.
If you haven't heard by now, Senator Ted Stevens's trial is slated to begin Sept. 24. Not very good publicity for people campaigning in October (Oktoberfest surprise?).
However, something else has just popped up that is a boon to us snarky liberals and late-night comedians.
Find out what it is below.
The timing couldn't possibly be more apropos. The Republican Convention will be defiling the city of St. Paul from Sept. 1-4 and the focus should be on that. But, like that persistent case of crabs, one thing just won't go away.
Senator Larry Craig's appeal is set to be heard on Sept. 10. So, while all those Republicans are filing through Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport's Lindberg Terminal (and possibly the bathrooms?), news anchors would be hard pressed not to mention the event that will be happening one short week later.
I realize this is an exceedingly abbreviated diary, but do we really need to hash out what a wide stance is?
Yes. Yes we do.
Enjoy your weekends!
