Today Dick Cheney flew into Alabama and went to the Shoal Creek Country Club for a fundraiser with the Alabama Republican Congressional Delegation. He shook some hands and apparently nobody bought a $2,000 photo with him. How do we know? Well, He was back on the tarmac a few minutes after 1:00. Kind of interesting when the fundraiser didn't start until 12:30.
The press and public weren't allowed at this event, so I couldn't get my picture made. However, the press was allowed to watch him land on the tarmac. We have footage. Wait for the ambulance at the end of this video. I think he was in it. It's a trip, otherwise this is just watching some old bald guy come down a plane. He wouldn't even take any questions from the Press.
Please note the call to action at the end of the diary.
The story from the Birmingham News goes something like this
Cheney in a blue shirt and blue tie stepped off the plane at 10:44 a.m. Two minutes later he left in a 12-car motorcade which was led by an Alabama State Trooper car and included an ambulance.
Birmingham police and Jefferson County sheriff's deputies blocked adjoining roads as the motorcade left. All air traffic into and out of the airport was stopped as the vice president landed.
About a dozen reporters met Cheney but he made no comments to the press as he left his plane for the motorcade.
At the same time we rolled out the Chase Cheney for Change fundraiser. This event is for Josh Segall running against incumbent Mike Rogers, one of the incumbents Cheney came to support.
Difference is our hosts will talk to the press about this event and we aren't charging $2,000 for a photo with Mr. Halliburton. We also didn't clog up traffic on the interstate for hours, delay traffic and cost the taxpayers money for extra security just so Cheney could go shake a couple of folks hands and eat some lunch at the exclusive Shoal Creek Country Club.
Please support Josh Segall - a great Candidate for AL-03 and counter whatever Cheney raised for Mike Rogers today by clicking on this thermometer
