Everyone's talking how McCain's closing the gap on Obama andit seems as though people are getting concerned that Obama may lose this.
Well, now's not the time to be so concerned. It's still early.
Mccain's people should be concerned with how they are doing and they actually are as evidenced by the obviously desperately nasty campaign ads he's been running.
Let's take a look
1 - McCain is looking a bit better because he keeps telling lie after lie after lie after lie and by the time Obama responds, it's already hours later and the damage has been done. HOWEVER, they hven't had a single head to head debate yet. When confronted with those lies and inaccuracies real time, Obama is going to mop McCain.
Just check out how well Obama responds to McCains nonsense when asked directly (which by the way, got very little post coverage). Pay particular attention 10 minutes and 14 minutes in.
2 - McCain started his nastiness relatively early on. Barack is not stupid. He has the ability to now see where McCain is coming from after he used his amunition. and now the Obama camp can strategize on how to effectively combattheir nonesense. McCain can go but for long with this garbage that he's putting out before people start to get tired of the BS.
3 - I know I may lose some people here but here goes. when John Edwards announced that his wife had cancer, his campaign experienced a bump in the polls. he even moved ahead of Obama and stayed there for a time. Similarly, John McCain announced that a growth on his face would be biopsied just to make sure, and soon after he began moving up to catch Obama in the polls. I'm not saying that is the absolute reason why but it's a possibility.
I hate when the pundits say that certain ads are having an effect when they offer absolutely NO evidence empirical or otherwise.
Anywho, it's just August. There's plenty of time for McSame to faulter big time.
