Having a landline I get to find out who the candidates who will go to the lowest depths of negative campaigning to win are.
Missouri in its infinite stupidity does not require robocallers to identify who paid for the calls, but with a little detective work (that most people don't do) you can usually find out who is behind the calls.
Here are the personal negative robocalls I have received in Missouri and who is almost certainly behind them.
My list so far is:
Peter Kinder, Republican (multiple negative unattributed robocalls against Sam Page)
Brad Lager, Republican (several unattributed negative robocalls against Clint Zweifel)
Steve Gaw, Democrat (single unattributed negative robocall against Judy Baker)...the identical positive robocall for Steve Gaw always comes exactly 12 minutes later for all seven people I have talked to who received the same first unattributed negative call.
Chris Koster, Democrat in name only (single unattributed negative robocall against both Jeff Harris and Margaret Donnelly)
Ken Jacob--Democrat..(single attributed negative robocall against Judy Baker. At least he attributed it).
I'm sure my list will grow. Tonight I expect to get 3AM robocalls allegedly supporting Page, Baker, Harris and Donnelly.
Robocall politics is a cesspool. I just wish the Democrats would play nice with each other and not jump into the cesspool themselves. And if they must go sleazy at least wait to go sleazy against Republicans.
I'm tempted to smash my phone with a hammer. But then I remember this is all data and it gives me useful information.
