MoveON.org has a devastating new ad that is now being shown all over neoCNN and MSNBC (before the Olympic coverage started) that actually debuted online on youtube last week, but is finally getting attention during an interesting time: With John McCain admitting that Barack Obama was right about checking your tires indirectly.
In the ad, a middle aged man talks about how he is disappointed in Senator McCain's idea of a gas tax holiday, finding it deceiving and not representing the promises that the presumptive Republican nominee had made to help those deep in the epoch of high gas prices.
"Senator McCain, you let me and my kids down," he said. "For the very beginning I told them that this is a principled guy."
"So when you said you was going to help make driving affordable again, I believed you. Then your ideas to do offshore drilling, which I find out won't produce much oil for 10 years-and barely save us money away- that's not a solution Mr. McCain, that's a gimmick, and we expected better."
Certainly, with the networks playing this now, it will be hard for this ad not to reverberate to anyone struggling in this situation.
