Good for MSNBC! I was thinking of this as part of a response for the Obama campaign to the "celebrity" nonsense, but this morning I saw that MSNBC said it already:
As with the Britney-Paris ad, it calls Obama "the biggest celebrity in the world" (despite McCain's own appearances in "24" and "Wedding Crashers" and a TV movie about him), and it also hits Obama on taxes and spending.
Undoubtedly the Obama campaign will be asked for comment on the new ad. He or a surrogate could use this - some variant on "John McCain is the one who played in an R-rated film" should do nicely.
The R-rated part is important, especially with the recent suggestion his wife compete in a raunchy beauty contest, and his known philandering past.
Other ideas for countering the "celebrity" nonsense, now that it's clear that's going to be a major point in attack ads?
