Florida State Attorney John Tanner, 7th Judicial Circuit, was at a political debate at a Women's Republican Club in Putnam County and during a question about terrorism John Tanner said,
"If Barack Obama was a terrorist, I would shoot him too."
He immediately turned to the reporter in the room and said, "Don't print that".
So this went unpublished, even though there was a political reporter in the room at the time from the Palatka Daily News, Ron Younis. He is chalking it up as a slip of the tongue, but trust me, it was no error.
If you do a google search of State Attorney, John Tanner, you will see that this is just one example in a long line of outrageous behavior. He is most well known for praying with Ted Bundy in the 90s, then proceeding to raid adult video stores in a crusade against pornography. This resulted in him losing the 1992 election, but he came back to win the 1996 election. More recently, on September 10th 2003, he was caught trying to board an airplane with undeclared guns, knives, and ammunition. He then admitted to doing so repeatedly in the past without being caught.

Fast-forward a few years, and after his daughter was arrested by local police. John Tanner went on a witch hunt against the local law enforcement that was so excessive that the 4 sheriffs in his circuit went to then Gov. Jeb Bush to have him removed from the prison probe.

State Attorney Shorstein was then appointed to look into Tanner's actions, and after the grand jury came back with a presentment critical of Tanner, he has spent over 500,000 taxpayer dollars keeping it sealed.

The point is that John Tanner made no mistake in his comment about shooting Barack Obama, and this should be picked up by at least the local news but it is being silenced,
call the Palatka Daily News and tell them that this is a story that the public deserves to hear
