It's amazing how Obama inspires so many musicians, painters, animators, designers and film artists.
I've done phone calling and lots of community chattering to boost the campaign efforts. But I wanted to contribute artistic energy. So, a few months ago, I designed some T shirts, mouse pads, etc with desire to promote Obama's campaign.
I realize not everyone can afford to donate all of their own art proceeds to the campaign. Creative people have to pay their bills, too. But some artists donate percentages. So I wondered if I could spend some time creating, generate donations for Obama, and still earn a little in order to keep designing.
I began with the subjects I love. Birds, dogs, cats. More below.
So, my humble designs got posted - dogs, cats, birds and more. Some designs are on my heart4art blog with links to the shirts, etc. But I was still trying to figure out a way to link up the designs sales with the Obama campaign. Then I discovered (as many of you already have) I could form a personal fund raising page at MyBO:
personal fundraising for Obama.
I'm happy if someone just looks at the designs for the fun of it and donates even a few dollars to Obama.
As for the art: magpies for Obama, cats for Obama, Bark Obama, and Bark for Obama.
Animal/pet lovers, unite!
If people want to purchase a T shirt they can go to the gift shop from my blog, and percentages (some are 100%, some are 25%) of profit are donated to the campaign.
I'll donate on my Obama fundraising page whenever I actually get some profit on any of the sold items.
I can't refer you to my fundraising page, unless I have your email to send an invitation.
If you want, leave a comment on the blog with address. I won't publish it, but I can send an invitation to MyBO fundraising page. If you have some suggestions about how to do this more effectively, thanks.
I appreciate your generous spirit. Whether you donate with an art interest or just donate, this election is critical. Has there ever been this much at stake? My hopes are high this year. I really enjoy joining forces with other hope mongers. And artists!
Please link to your Obama art in comments. Let's share and help one another. (I wish I could go to the art auction benefits some of you are hosting in your cities. Good luck to you. Your events sound wonderful.)
If we work together giving what we can -- even if it's art -- yes, we can!
UPDATE: WOW! Donations on my bark4Obama fundraising page. Thank you so much!
