Okay, here's another, I know, I know diary.
But I think there's enough tea leaves out there to suggest Mark Warner will be Obama's VP and make everyone very happy.
Of course, I'm just pulling this out of my you know where (as Markos would say).
We all know the rumors that Obama really always wanted Warner, but Warner turned Obama down. I just don't think you turn down the next President of the United States.
Let's look at the tea leaves:
- Mark Warner is scheduled as the Key Note speaker.
To me, this was the ultimate trial balloon and he passed with flying colors. Everyone loves Mark Warner as the key note speaker and they'll love him as VP.
- There's that big announcement in Richmond, VA on Wednesday (nope, not Kaine)
- With Mark Warner, Virginia (and the election) will be Obama's.
- Tim Kaine: all those trial balloons about Tim Kaine weren't for the VP slot, they were for taking over the Virginia senate candidacy from Warner. Unfortunately, I don't think Kaine passed the polling test and the Dems will have to find another replacement for Warner for senate. But, with Obama/Warner, the Dems should still win the VA senate seat over Gilmore and Virginia.
- Mark Warner will reinforce the pro-business (and pro-entrepreneurial side of the Obama campaign)
- Questions regarding the need for more foreign policy experience may come in the announcement of Joe Biden for Secretary of State (that will end any questions regarding the foreign policy credentials of the Pres and VP candidates)
- And Mark Warner was born in Indiana. Okay, so he grew up in Illinois and Connecticut, but, they can still play on the Indiana theme to help there.
- And there's that Harvard Law School connection (no, they didn't attend at the same time)
- Lastly, won't everyone be surprised and pumped?
So, am I right?
