We all have noticed that prior to "digging" at John McCain, a nod is given to his military service. This giving of status before taking it, has its beginnings in the deference paid to British nobility.
Of all the Nations that have had Monarchs, perhaps the healthy disrespect of the British stands out. As long as "due regard and reverence" was shown, at the beginning of an exchange, most anything could be said to them. The best example would be Marc Antony's Oration, and his continued "Brutus is an honorable man, and so are They all Honorable Men" as he tore at them.
Let us continue to give "Due Regard and Reverence" to Sen. McCain for his Military Service as we tear down his Public Service.
