In a 3 hour marathon last night, CNN devoted an hour and a half to each of the life stories of the two major candidates for President.
The Obama segment featured clips we have all seen, along with some new, and flattering information. The only thing they could find to say that smacked of "negative" was a comment from a Chicago print reporter, and Obama biographer, that his initial foray into politics was "cut throat". That was followed by 3 different people saying "That's the way politics is played".
The McCain story, on the other hand was not at all flattering. They hit his divorce and failure to secure his final decree before obtaining a marriage license to marry Cindy. The devoted a fair amount of time to his famous temper, including comments from a bunch of folks who worked with him. They skimmed the Keating 5. They covered his original foray into politics following his return from captivity and the fact that he moved fast and probably could not have won without a great deal of his wife's money behind his bid.
The portrayal was of an unpleasant man with a checkered history who was ruthless and unpredictable.
If any "Low Information Voters" bothered to watch, they should have had their minds made up by 11:00 pm.
It was a very satisfying outing for the Democrat!! Given that we get few of those, I was surprised and pleased.
